Muckduck is an entity that consists entirely out of trash and goo. He is an enemy of Darkwing Duck.
It is implied that Muckduck is a mutant who did not start as a person, but rather formerly existed as non-living garbage. Unlike other fluid-bodied individuals, such as Liquidator and Yucky Duck, Muckduck is not inclined to a humanoid shape and is perfectly content appearing as regular junk. He might not be capable of talking.
As garbage, Muckduck likes to surround himself with garbage.
Muckduck's base color is a sickly brown. He mostly manifests as a puddle of gunk with various discarded items sticking out, but can take an identifiable form when it suits him. The effort tends to stay limited to his face, which is a duck's with a blubber beard.
Joe Books comics
Darkwing Duck is only just back in action when Muckduck joins his rogues' gallery. Some time thereafter, Muckduck becomes incarcerated in the new maximum security jail in St. Canard and part of the tour display set up for the St. Canard School for Spirited Youngsters. Along with all other inmates, he is freed from his cell by Negaduck to hunt down a locked-in Darkwing. Muckduck remains in his cell until the caped crusader enters through the garbage chute, at which point he takes form around him and grabs him. Darkwing succeeds in escaping, but with the sapient trash right after him. As fate would have it, they enter a hallway in which Ammonia Pine is just done waxing the floors. Darkwing glides past her while Muckduck collides with the cleaning lady, neutralizing the both of them.
- Muckduck has the honor of being the first cast addition to the Darkwing Duck franchise by Joe Books and he has waited long enough for that. Muckduck gets namedropped instead of Boom! Studios's Blood Thinner in the The Definitively Dangerous Edition publication of "Crisis on Infinite Darkwings, Part 1", which was released on February 24, 2015. The Joe Books comics were put on hold for over a year thereafter. A month before debuting in person in "Orange Is the New Purple, Part 1", a glimpse of Muckduck reached the internet through the prototype cover of "Orange Is the New Purple, Part 3" on March 24, 2016.
